Just Live!

While it’s true that hospice helps patients and their families prepare for death, at Evergreen Hospice we are about so much more. We are committed to ensuring that each day is the very best it can be. One of the ways we achieve this goal is through our “Just Live!” program. Even in its infancy, “Just Live!” has enabled patients to attend a concert at The Kauffman Center for Performing Arts, to have an afternoon of excitement at a casino, to take in a Royals’ game, or to enjoy a meal at a favorite restaurant.  One patient was able to have lunch at a favorite restaurant with family and friends before visiting the very classroom where he taught at Lawrence H.S. in the 1960’s! One of our patients’ granddaughters wrote: “The services that Evergreen has brought to her have been such a blessing and such an ENCHANCEMENT in her everyday life. She gets to socialize more, be a part of more activities, and just LIVE.” 

Upon hearing about the significance such events can hold for others, many have asked how they can support this specific aspect of our care. In response we created the “Just Live!” fund. These gifts are held in reserve by our parent, not-for-profit Evergreen Living Innovations, Inc., and are used exclusively to fund our “Just Live!” events. As a 501(c)(3) corporation, all donations are tax-deductible. If you have questions or are interested in contributing, please call us at 913.477.8248 or go to our PayPal link:
